We are holding a Jubilee lunch at the Lunch Club here at SVS on 1st June. Ring 01395 515063 to check availability. Or why not pop in for tea/coffee/cake and see another beautiful window created for the occasion of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. A reminder that we will be closed on Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June for the Jubilee bank holiday. Hope you all have a lovely time celebrating or just enjoying the sunshine.

Its lovely to see everyone in the cafe for coffee, tea, cakes and lunches.  Hearing Loop - we are delighted that we have recently had a hearing loop installed by Audio Visual Direct following a grant from the Leeds Building Society.  Chatty Café – SVS has now joined the Chatty Café Scheme. This is where cafes have a chatter and natter table where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers, so look out for our special table when you pop in for tea or coffee. Ukraine Coffee Morning - thank you to everyone for your support.  The coffee morning raised £560 which will be sent via the DEC to help the people of Ukraine.  Fun & Friendship - You are invited to come along and join Lisa here every Friday morning, 9.30 am until 12 pm, for good company and fun.  Just pop in anytime during the morning for puzzles, table tennis, board games, crafts or just a chat.  Bank Holiday - a reminder that the kitchen will be closed on Monday 2nd May due to the bank holiday.  Annual General Meeting - an advance notice that this will be held on Saturday 25th June 2022 starting at 1 pm to which everyone is invited.

We are sorry to inform you that the SVS Kitchen and Café will be closed for two days on Monday 14th March and Tuesday 15th March 2022 due to continued refurbishment.  This will also affect our delivery services.  We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

We are pleased to say that SVS are celebrating their 60th Anniversary and an anniversary booklet is now available.  To find out more about the history of Twyford House and SVS please ask at the Kitchen for a copy.  The cost is £2 per Booklet.  Copies are also available from Paragon Books.

We are pleased to announce that morning teas and coffees and Lunch Club are available once again in the cafe at Twyford House.

You can book your meal by contacting June or Mandy on 01395 515063. Return transport for the Lunch Club at Twyford House can also be arranged.
Our meal delivery service will continue to operate.  We look forward to seeing you.

Thank you for considering Sidmouth Voluntary Services for your transport needs.
Sidmouth Voluntary Services is closed from the 18th December and reopening on the 4th January.
Some of our volunteers are still driving over this period but bookings must be made before 11am on Friday 18 December .

We will start taking bookings again on Monday 4 January at 9am.

Should you need to organise your transport before this you could try and call the following service oragnisations :

Royal Devon & Exeter Patient Transport Advice Service (RD&E PTAS)

The RD&E PTAS Office is open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day. They are a Transport Advice Service and it is important to stress that they may not be able to provide transport for everyone as there are eligibility criteria for patients requesting help. However as they are an advice service they will help with signposting you to other organisations that may also be able to help. They can make Transport appointments up to 2 weeks before an appointment and First Care, who actually provide the Transport, operate all year round. -  their number is 0345 155 1009

  • You have caring responsibilities.
  • You are self-isolating because you have been diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19) or have symptoms, or you’ve been in contact with someone who has.

We hope that this information is of use and would like to stress that we are able to take bookings up to 11:00 on Friday 18 December for the period that we are closed. However please be aware that for advance bookings made for the period 19/12/20 - 03/01/21, once the booking request is sent to the driver by email, the Transport Office will not unfortunately be able to provide any follow up support whilst we are closed. This will mean that the driver who has been asked to carry out a journey by the Office will contact you directly to let you know whether they can fulfill your request and if they cannot then you will have to try other organisations as SVS will unfortunately not be able to help . Thanks for your understanding in advance on this matter

Finally we would like to wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to serving you again in 2021. Stay safe and warm. 🎄

Sincerely

Val Powell & Rich Allen - The Transport Office
